Description
Details the earthquake that occured on August 31, 1885, which resulted in indoor hydrants and hose being placed in the Laundry building. An accident at City Water Supply was also reported. A large well was dug in the rear of the building as a result, and a steam pump was purchased. The Maintenance fund reports that a considerable amount was spent on improvements during this fiscal year.
