Description
"The years 1951-1954 have been as a result the greatest period of sustained construction in the more than 125 years of the hospitals existance." "To replace the kitchen at the Columbia Division, from which the hospital was attempting to feed more than 3,000 patients with equipment designed to feed only 1,800, there has been erected, as an addition to the modern warehouse, a kitchen, and bakery which is probably one of the finest of its kind in the United States."
