The State. Text of Governor Byrnes' Talk to General Assebly
Description
This article details the "complete text of the address to the General Assembly" by Governor James F. Byrnes on January 8, 1952."There was a time when men and women regarded the care of dependent and aged parents not as a duty but as a privilege. The people must understand there is no such thing as government money; the government has no money except that which it takes from the pockets of people. And the man who is able to do so, should care for his aged parents and dependent children and not transfer that burden to his neighbor."
