Henry Tazewell (1753-1799) served in the Virginia Assembly from 1775 to 1786. He had previously served in the Virginia Constitutional Convention of 1776 and went on to being U.S. Senator (1793-1799) and President pro tempore of the Senate during the Third and Fourth Congresses.
