Donatien-Marie-Joseph de Vimeur, vicomte de Rochambeau (1755-1813) was the son of Count Rochambeau and a respected French Army officer in his own right. He travelled to America with his father during the Revolution, participating in the siege of Yorktown. He was most noted for his unsuccessful and brutal attempts to restore French rule to Saint-Dominique after the Haitian Revolution. He was mortally wounded at the Battle of Leipzig.
