Robert Bakewell (1725-1795) was an English innovator in breeding and livestock in horses, sheep, and cattle. He developed pioneering methods that are still practiced today, some of which were published by Arthur Young in "A Ten Days Tour to Mr. Bakewell's" in the Annals of Agriculture of 1786. Bakewell and Young are considered major figures of the English agriculture of the 18th century.
