William Houston (1746-1788) was an American lawyer, who served as delegate for New Jersey to the Continental Congress and the Constitutional Convention in 1787, which he attended, however, a short time. He was elected member of the American Philosophical Society in 1780, the same year as other correspondents of William Short, such as Thomas Jefferson and William Carmichael.
