          I took an Opportunity of writing you a few lines by the June Packet from New,York inclosd— in Mr. Jefferson letter of same date I therein informd. you, that Mr Ross & myself had begun seriously to think of & attempt to put the plan recommended by Mr Jefferson & yrself in Excecution, til . . . forbid by Mr Jeffersons last letter to me by the July Packet, you may rest assurd, it will at all times give either & both of Us pleasure to pay pointed attention to any commands of Mr Jeffersons— I hope you Spend your time agreeably & are perfectly master of the French Language & Chefs etc etc— We have nothing new here worth relating to you, the Genl Court Bar is crowded with young Gentn of the law Jn Mercer & Wm Nelson esqrs. are of the number— Munro & Hardy will reinforce them soon— I am told— Our ^Genl Assemblees are now only once a year. the Session confers to day. I refer you for any little Domestick anecdotes I can <...> with to Mr Jeffersons letter in which this ^is inclosd— & tell you further Miss Lizy Marshall was Balloond.last Saturday night by Rawleigh Colston Esqr. & that Miss Lucy Randolph with a sigh observd she should never see Miss Lizzy’s innocent face again; supposing that tasting the fruit prepard on purpose for her could make her otherwise— I'll write you no more till you honor me with a letter— Mr Jefferson’s letter & this are Confided to the particular care of Captn Lewis LittlePage a young Gentleman of this Country who does it honor & who I take the liberty of introducing to your particular aicqtce.. & polite attentions friendly Offices etc etc as much as I should for myself over I in France. & near you; being much Interested in his future, ^<...> hell please you at first & youll get fond of him upon a more intimate aicquantance, wishing you to write me Often & in hopes of hearing from you very soon.
